Those interested in digital communications and activism may be well aware of the debate that has been going on around "clicktivism" or it's more derogatory title "slacktivism". In short this is a form of activism that mainly takes place online, and can be dominate by the clicking of online petitions.
I'm running a debate about the issue on 18th November at the Shine Unconference. I'd be interested in hearing other people's views on this in advance of the debate. Do you think there is value in online petitions, or do you think change can only happen when you get out on the streets?
You can find out more about the debate here: http://shineunconference.org/tweet-or-street-modern-social-activism/
