global tolerance connect

For those of us, like myself, just joining the conversations here on connect and the global tolerance network, here's something to think on a bit.

"Tolerance is not passive acceptance, just as non-violence is not inaction, and compassion is not pity.Tolerance is about respecting different beliefs, and the human right to hold those beliefs. Tolerance is a minimum standard for dialogue, understanding and respect to thrive - across the globe."

Would love to hear your thoughts, whatever they may be

(And, PS, in case it's not yet obvious, touching base frequently on the questions of the meaning, significance, value, and practice of the concepts at the core of our mission is something important to us. Words like 'conscience' and 'tolerance' and even, say, 'peace' or 'respect' can be interpreted in many ways. It's wildly important, not to mention wonderfully productive, to discuss what such concepts are to us individually, such that our community may be strong!)
