I'm currently doing my MA in Image and Communications at Goldsmiths University, London.
my job title is
MA student
my story so far
I've been working in communications in the charity sector for about four years now and enjoy the aspect of working for good causes to get key messages out.
ask me 'why global tolerance?' and I will answer
For me global tolerance is about a fair, just world where people connect with each other by tolerating and accepting each person on this planet, no matter their background, culture, religion or ethnicity. That, in turn, creates global citizens within a global society, in which we can learn from each other rather than imposing certain values and devalue others.
Having just returned from a 2-months research trip to Nepal I feel stronger than ever about global tolerance. The caste system is particularly predominant in the rural areas of Nepal. I got increasingly upset seeing the way certain people were seen and treated by others just because of the caste they were born into - truly something they had no influence on when they were born!
the one thing I would change in the world is...
creating a just world and narrow down the imbalances of inequality
I'm passionate about...
international development and photography. I'm currently doing a masters in Image and Communications so I can use photography as a medium to communicate key messages and issues, such as poverty, experienced in the Global South to raise awareness in a visual way.
connect with me to talk about...
communications in international development and how to effectively get key messages across so the general public becomes more tolerant towards 'the others' - the people who are different from them but by no means of less value.
